What is a call number?

A call number is a series of numbers and letters that indicate where a book can be found in a library. Mercer uses the Library of Congress (LoC) classification system. The call number is usually located at the bottom of the spine or on the front cover of the book if the spine is too thin. Some examples of a call number are;
