[ATLANTA] How do I enter the Swilley Library building?

How to use one's Bear Card to enter through the Swilley Library's doors and gates.

The Swilley Library's west end has two sets of doors for entry into the building: one at the end of the upper level bridge; and one directly below it, under the bridge.  You must have a current Bear Card to enter, unless you are an alumnus/a.

  1. If your Bear Card is on your cell phone and NFC is turned on, open your Bear Card and hold it to the reader.  If you have a physical Bear Card, remove it from your wallet or bag, and touch it against the reader.
  2. When the light turns green, immediately press the large, square accessibility button.
  3. At the gates inside, touch your Bear Card to the reader on your right.
  4. When the lights of the gate turn green, enter alone past the plastic doors.  Do not follow anyone without touching your own Bear Card to the reader.

Alumni should call 678-547-6284 when they arrive at the upper level entrance during hours that the library has in-person services.
