How do I check out E-books?
I get a message asking if I want to check out an electronic book. What do I do?
Mercer University Libraries has a number of databases that specialize in ebooks.
Here are two of the biggest:
Most ebook platforms allow you to access the full text content of the book online without downloading or "checking out" the ebook. If an ebook platform requires you to "check out" the book, you will be prompted by the system. When this message comes up, simply follow the prompts to check out the book. Most loans will be for 7 days, but some ebooks let you select longer check out times.
Also, if your ebook has expired, you are welcome to check it out as many times as you need to.
