How do I find information about a specific journal?
Is the journal peer-reviewed? What are the submission guidelines? What is the scope of the journal?
If you need to find information about a specific journal such as,
- Is the journal peer-reviewed?
- What are the journal submission guidelines?
- What is the scope of the journal?
The publisher's website is the best place to get information about submission guidelines, scope of the journal, or if it is peer-reviewed. Use an internet search engine such as Google to find the publisher's website then look for sections such as About, Author Guidelines, or Contribute.
You can also look at the library database Ulrichs to find information about journals. Ulrichs provides bibliographic information on more than 300,000 journals, magazines, and newspapers. Make sure to select the appropriate title because you may see multiple versions with the same name; this can occur when print and online formats exist or if the journal publisher changed.

Click on the journal title to look at the description. If you need to know if a journal is peer-reviewed or scholarly, look at the term "refereed." Ulrichs also provides links to the publisher's website if the journal is active.
