How do I cite in Chicago/Turabian style?
How do I use Chicago footnotes? What's the difference between a footnote and a works cited entry?
The latest edition of the Chicago Manual of Style is on reserve at the circulation desk.
At Mercer, most professors want you to use the Notes-Bibliography style of Chicago. This uses footnote/endnotes (which have the same format) and bibliography/works cited entries (which are slightly different). You will use both in your paper.
Here are some common source citations, with (N) for your note and (B) for your bibliography/works cited.
Journal Article
(N) 1. First Name Last Name. “Article Title,” Journal Title Vol., no. # (Year): page #, doi.
OR 1. First Name Last Name. “Article Title,” Journal Title Vol., no. # (Year): page #, accessed Month XX, XXXX, URL.
(B) Last Name, First Name. “Article Title.” Journal Title Vol., no. # (Year): Page range. doi.
OR Last Name, First Name. “Article Title.” Journal Title Vol., no. # (Year): Page range. Accessed Month XX, XXXX. URL.
Book
(N) 1. First name Last name, Title of Book (Place of publication: Publisher, Year of publication), page number.
(B) Last name, First name. Title of Book. Place of publication: Publisher, Year of publication.
Webpage
(N) 1. Firstname Lastname, “Web Page Title,” Website Name, Publishing Organization, publication or revision date if available, access date if no other date is available, URL.

YouTube Video
