How do I use the scanner?

How do I scan documents?

Things to note before scanning:

  • Scanning is free
  • You must have a USB drive (flash drive) in order to save your scans. USB drives are available at the front desk for checkout.

To use the scanner:

  1. Tap your Bear Card at the printer.
  2. Press the "home" button.
  3. Put your USB drive in the left side of the printer.
  4. Choose the "Scanner" icon on the display
  • If you are scanning loose-leaf pages, you can put the pages face up in the document feeder on the top of the machine.
    • When the documents are done scanning, the images will be saved as a PDF on the USB drive.
  • If you are scanning pages in a book, you will want to open up the flatbed scanner.
    • Make sure to align your scan with the top-left corner of the flatbed scanner, face down.
    • You will have 60 seconds after a scan to set up the next image.
    • When you are through scanning, press the # key to save the images as a PDF to your USB drive.
